遊客旅行在異國有可能會迷路，看著地圖仍迷惘，此時可求助於在地人指點迷津！

問路（asking for directions）先說「請問」（Excuse me）。此開場白亦可引起對方注意。例如迷路了，想問身處何處：「Excuse me. I’m lost. Where am I? / Could you （please） tell me where I am?」；若將後句替換成「Could you （please） help me out?」為「您能幫我忙嗎？」。

又，例如問如何去火車站：「Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to the train station?/How do I get to the train station?/Could you （please） show （或point） me the way to the train station?」。

想找附近的郵局/銀行/超市/便利商店等說：「Excuse me. Is there a post office/bank/supermarket/convenience store nearby/near here?」；或如此問：「請問最近的郵局在哪兒？」（Excuse me. Where is the nearest post office?/Could you （please） tell me where the nearest post office is?）；或「我在找XX銀行，會很遠嗎？」（Excuse me. I’m looking for XX Bank. Is it far?）。

還有例如問抵達戲院最好/最快的方法：「Excuse me. What’s the best/quickest way to （get to） the movie theater?」。
